PRESIDENTS REPORT

Welcome to the 2006-2007 end of season report. The Butchers had a very positive year both on and off the field and everyone involved in the club should be proud of their efforts and achievements. A big thanks firstly to the Bulli workers club who were once again outstanding supporters of the club.

I'll start with where I started last year.

As most are aware 2005-2006 was a very difficult season for the club and planning for this season started almost as soon as the last ball was bowled for the previous season. The club needed a bit of a kick start to get moving forward again and the first part of this was getting more people involved off the field.

The first step forward was an excellent one with our AGM which was very well attended and a good deal of effort was put into a presentation outlining the off field function of the club this obviously had an effect as a number of the younger guys responded very well during the season and it was very rewarding to see an influx of enthusiasm running through the club.

Ean Martin stepped aside from the secretary role and put extra effort into his various roles with the district administration. Ean still did plenty as a general committee member and gear steward and the vast bulk of what he did at direct level was very well executed and received...
