 PRESIDENTS REPORT
The 2010-11 season was one of transition for Illawarra Cricket. The Association was faced with many issues not the least being the financial situation which had deteriorated over recent seasons. I am pleased to report that this has been rectified to some extent but warn that vigilance will be required for the next few seasons to ensure that the Association returns to a sound financial position. The turnaround can be attributed to the support of Cricket NSW who were generous enough to provide a grant of $10,000 to offset some of the losses incurred in holding the Ford Ranger Cup match in 2009-10. Another source of financial support came via a new major sponsor in The IMB Building Society who contributed $7,000. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with them and I urge all clubs and their members to support IMB wherever possible. A glance at the financials will reveal that the clubs contributed a substantial sum to the Association by way of fines. This was unexpected at the start of the season but was disappointing from an administrative point of view. The fact that fines became necessary means that the Association administrator has needed to carry out unnecessary extra work.
