Welcome to Juniors Tuesday, the latest feature to hit Butcher Cricket. Congratulations to the Thirroul Under 16A side who progressed to
the Semi Finals on the back of a 2nd place finish in the 10 team
competition. With a record of one outright win, five innings wins, two washouts and just one loss,
Thirroul kept the club aspirations of a Junior title alive at Hollymount West on Saturday. The
previous encounter, back in Round 7, had been all Butchers after a Jackson Stewart and Lachlan Dunn inspired 7-278 was far too good for Corrimal's 104 & 6-69.
Losing the toss Thirroul had to withstand an amazing assault from 14yr old Thomas McDevitt who blasted five 6's in his 77 - in a team total of 99. Hayden Crosland (4-26), Lachlan Dunn (3-11) and Jackson Stewart (2-2) though wreaked havoc amongst the rest of the Corrimal line-up, no other player able to pass 7 in a remarkable scorecard.
A target of 100 would just be too small for the classy Thirroul outfit who passed the total for the loss of only three wickets. Jackson Stewart (60*) and Jacob Hand (20) ensured the early run out of Lachlan McPherson (9) was only a minor hiccup on their way to an emphatic Semi Final victory.

Be sure to get down to watch our Butcher boys if you can, a washout between these two previously means this is the first time one and two meet this season. Should be a cracker!
