Mark Keefe's stoic 51* at the top of the order held up one end and ensured the Butchers would come away with the inaugural Plate Trophy.

20th March, 2004 - Chasing 160 in the Plate Semi Final against Wests Illawarra; Northern Districts were quickly in all kinds of trouble when slipping to 2/8 and then 5/36 early in their reply.  In it's inaugural year the Plate looked to be heading to Figtree.

Steven Musgrove (88*) and Mark Keefe (51*) joined to form a rearguard, match winning partnership. Together they gave the Devils no further joy as they chased down the target with 12 overs to spare. A Devils team featuring three current First Graders was not able to prevent Northern Districts from claiming first rights to the now defunct 4th Grade Plate.

The match also featured top bowling efforts from a young Jeremy Lum, Andrew Metcalf, Michael Crossland and Greg Martin. See the scorecard here.

Today's Unsung Heros are Steven Musgrove and Mark Keefe.
