All in all it was a great display by the Butchers, with bat and ball, and special praise must go to Jackson Stewart for his 4/40 and 105.

After a long first day for the NDCC 2nd Grade side, they returned to Helensburgh oval for day 2 of their battle with the Burgh. Needing a further 217 runs for victory, openers Jackson Stewart (105) and Lucas Coleman (41) continued on from the from their solid start of 0/38 from the previous week. The pair were traveling well and took the score to 106 before a disastrous run out saw Lucas Coleman run out, and cement his spot as one of the favourites for the Ean Martin award at presentation night later on in the year.

Ean Martin them strode to the crease and found the middle of the bat (both front and back) from the outset. These two combined to build another solid partnership until Martin fell to a good catch off the bowling of Sinclar for 30. Leaving the score at 2/165.

At the break the Butchers needed a further 50 or 60 runs with still 7 wickets remaining , and things were looking good until the Butchers lost the wickets of Aaron McRae and Jackson Stewart leaving the score 5/215.

But then the Butchers once again fought back to build another solid partnership between Rhys Marsh (16*) and Michael Allen (22) until another Run Out in comical circumstances saw Michael Allen depart with the score at 6/242 and only needing a further 14 for victory.

Greame Sismey wanted to do this as quickly as possible and saw him lose his wicket when the scorers were double checking the scores. Jack Daskey then walked out with us having already won the game to go and ask Rhys how many more runs were required, even though Jack was the incoming batsman. He then proceeded to give his cellular telephone to the umpire as he was no doubt checking live scores for the majority of the day. :)

All in all it was a great display by the Butchers, with bat and ball, and special praise must go to Jackson Stewart for his 4/40 and 105. Surely one of the great Butchers doubles.
