Tim McKenzie ended the resistance from J Bunyan (41) before ripping through the middle and lower order to finish with 4/31.

NDCC 1st Grade began the first day of Round 3 of the ICA Competition away at Port Kembla on Saturday. Northern Districts rolled Port Kembla for 137 off just 51.1 overs with Tim McKenzie (4/31), Lee Clouten (3/19) and John Robinson (2/20) claiming bowling honours. Ean Martin was good in the field, holding onto two catches.

The Butchers then began solidly with the second consecutive fifty run opening partnership between Scott Beckett & Mark Cottom. The Butchers then lost quick wickets to be in a precarious position at 5/69 at stumps.

Starting 68 runs behind this weekend the Butchers will need to draw inspiration from the same match last year where they slipped to 5/80 before rallying to post 174, a winning score. Hugh Fullagar will likely join Robinson at the crease to start the re-building process. Good luck gentlemen.
