The NDCC Under 21's team has moved into the Semi Finals with an impressive win over a strong Port Kembla side at Hollymount Park on Sunday. Lee Turner and his team went to one win out of their 3 games and with some luck moved above Port & Corrimal by the smallest of margins to sneak into the 2nd place from their pool as Wests made it 3 wins from 3 games in a dominant display.
Strong performances from Jackson Stewart (57) & Geordie Crawford (45) saw the Butchers total 172 from their 50 overs. A patient display and perfect taking into consideration the slowish outfield. Jeremy Lum (3/16), Jack Daskey (4/35) & Eric Denhartog (1/24) then went about taking Port apart as Port fell well short, all out for 90. Lum in particular showing the line & length needed to bowl on the Hollymount Pitch. Full length deliveries with some swing saw Jeremy take 3 wickets, whilst Jack Daskey continued his recent good form with an impressive spell taking 4 wickets. Jack's flight and dip was brilliant and with his 3 wickets on Saturday shows Jack is moving closer to the displays we all know he can produce.
The guys will now take on Keira at Keira Oval this coming Sunday the 17th of January in the semi final. A massive game for the guys and another chance to showcase the clubs depth in young talent.
