NDCC 1st Grade suffered a defeat in their two day clash with Port Kembla at Hollymount Park East. The demoralising defeat was outlined by Port Kembla's Luke Hunter making 125 not out and Daniel Lee an unbeaten half century to guide the Blacks home easily.
Starting the day at 3/16 chasing the Butchers 149, Port made patient work of their chase and declared 4 down for 200.
In the 2nd Innings, Matt Salakas once again stood out with an aggressive 42*, including his first SIX since perhaps U10's way back in 2007.
Northern Districts next match is again at home, taking on Balgownie in the last of the One Day fixtures. Captain Brett Murphy will return to the Butcher's line up after being away for the last 2 weeks.
