JUST IN - Northern Districts moments ago bowled out University for 99 to progress through to the 1st Grade One-Day final next Sunday.
Batting first Northern Districts were able to manage 9/150 (50) with Stuart Tobin (34), Mark Johnson (28) and Joe McDevitt (26) the major contributors. With the ball Mark Johnson (3/18) and Eric Denhartog (2/10) simply blew away the strong Uni lineup, having them 5/16 early on before finally putting them away in the rainy and blustery conditions.
Earlier 2nd Grade bowled out University for 103 to make it the daily double University domination. Ean Martin (48) and Lee Turner (24*) smashed the hapless Uni bowlers to all parts to roar over the the line for the loss of only two wickets. Mark Cottom (15) proved a reliable opener as he shared in a 62-run opening stand with Martin.
Earlier Steve Bond (4/24) and Michael Doig (2/27) again took five top order wickets to set the opposition back; before Brett Murphy (3/24) cleaned up with his hoops.
