This wasn’t just another Nugget victory (which are starting to become monotonous reading for butchercricket.com visitors) no, this one was extra special. Why?
- Whispering Jack’s highest total as a Nugget, 59 (4 x 4’s & 3 x 6’s).
- Earle’s highest total as a Nugget, 73 not out (4 x 4’s & 6 x 6’s).
(long boundaries and thick Gibbo grass too).
- Rabbit’s 23 off 6 balls (4 x 4’s, 1 x 6 and a single).
- 2 wickets in two overs from Pete Tarzan Armstrong’s first ever bowling spell.
- Muzza’s 3 catches in one match (even though he didn’t want to take them)
- Our highest ever total of 248 (against a side equal with us on the ladder).
- Our largest ever winning margin of 96 runs
- and now, our highest ever position of 6th (equal with Sky) with the semis not too far away. But first we have to get past those NDCC young guns next week led by the Silver Fox... not an easy task for any side.
Great stats above and heaps of fun, but for the Skipper there was only thing about this win over the ‘Burgh that was better than our teamwork and great catching (7), and that was the look of fear in Spider’s eyes when he heard our result.
Our best ever victory (so far) is dedicated to Rabbz’s mum who passed away just before Christmas. RIP Kath Stuart.
UP THE BUTCHERS!
