Player of the Week - Nov 16, 2011

 Mark Rollestone

This weeks Player of the Week goes to 3rd Grade all-rounder Mark Rollestone for his 83 and 4/13 against Helensburgh at Hollymount last weekend. He finished as the week's leading run scorer and wicket taker, claiming almost maximum real estate on the Butcher Cricket homepage.

Rollo has been in good knick with the bat but really stepped it up with his better than a run a ball knock that featured seven boundaries and one six, putting together 50-run partnerships with Justin Brancato and Rob Potter to ensure a healthy score of 228 was reached. Backing up with the ball, after the openers only managed one each, Rollo tore through the middle order with four wickets in six miserly overs, in short Helensburgh never had a shot of coming close. One more wicket and Rollo would have joined what would be a very elite group of half centuries and five wickets in one match.

Very close behind Rollo was Pat Nolan's match winning knock of 60 and 2/6 when securing two-from-two for the Gold Members. Curtis Wilson was right behind him with a knock of all class, carrying his bat for 56* when the team fell apart all around him for 84. And finally, Captain of Sky Gary Neilson who marshalled his troops and led from the front with a rock solid 42 in an important win over Wests Red.

But it is congratulations to Mark Rollestone for his outstanding performances and picking up this week's Player of the Week.
